Vegan Chorizo Wonton Bites made with No Evil Foods El Capitan

‘Chorizo’ Wonton Bites

Yield: 12 count

Bite-size foods are bomb, don’t ya think? These ‘Chorizo’ Wontons with Mango Avocado Salsa are sweet with a little spice, perfect for healthy snackin’!


  • 10 oz El Zapatista, crumbled
  • 36 vegan wonton wrappers
  • ½ can of vegan refried beans
  • ¼ cup vegan cheese (We used Follow Your Heart Mozzarella)

Mango Avocado Salsa 
Yield: 2 cups

  • ½ large ripe avocado, diced
  • ½ pint cherry tomatoes, quartered
  • ½ large ripe mango, peeled and chopped
  • ½ lime, juiced
  • 1 oz fresh cilantro, chopped
  • ¼ red onion, diced small
  • salt & pepper

The How-To

  1. Cook crumbled chorizo according to package instructions until crispy.  Set aside.
  2. Combine all ingredients for the mango avocado salsa in a bowl.  Stir to combine.
  3. Use 3 wonton wrappers to line each compartment of a muffin tin.  Crisp in 325 degree F oven for 3 to 5 minutes until slightly golden.
  4. Add a layer of refried beans, crispy chorizo, and cheese to each muffin compartment.  Return to oven for 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Add top each with mango avocado salsa.  Serve immediately.
