Sausage & Apple Biscuit

Equipment Needed: sheet tray, oven

We like to file this biscuit under: Things We’d Jump Out of Bed For. Simple, satisfying AF and slightly sweet, this fluffy vegan biscuit topped with sausage and apple is your new best friend on those busy AMs when you desperately crave something that will fuel you right. The maple walnut cream cheese alone is something we’re thinking of bottling up and selling in our next plant-based venture, but we digress. We promise we won’t blame you if you do decide to fuel up with these guys every morning for a week straight, because we 100% totally did.

Ingredients

  • 12 oz. The Stallion, cut on a bias
  • 1 green apple, cored and cut into rounds
  • 8 oz. vegan cream cheese – We used Kite Hill Plain Cream Cheese
  • ¼ cup walnuts, chopped small
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 5 oz. arugula
  • 8 vegan biscuits – We used Annie’s Flaky Biscuits

 

The How To

  1. Bake biscuits according to package.
  2. Mix cream cheese, maple syrup, and walnuts in a bowl.
  3. Sear sausage in oil over medium high heat until edges are crispy.
  4. Assemble biscuits with spread, apple slice, arugula, and sausage.
